RTL Nieuws has listed the RIVM figures for each municipality over the past week. This shows that there are almost no more municipalities in the Netherlands where no corona infections were detected in the past week. At least one new infection was detected last week in 345 of the 355 municipalities in the Netherlands. A week earlier this concerned 330 municipalities.

In addition, there was an increase in the number of corona infections in 275 municipalities last week compared to last week. This is more than last week, when it was still 259 municipalities.

Increase in large cities
With 2078 new infections, Amsterdam is the municipality with the most new infections in absolute terms. Last week it was still 1251 new infections. Amsterdam is not the only large city where many new infections have been reported. After Amsterdam, the absolute most infections were in Rotterdam (1085), The Hague (1021) and Utrecht (455).
Per 100,000 Inhabitants, there were also the most infections in Amsterdam last week (238). This is followed by the municipalities of Weesp (223), Haaksbergen (197) and Diemen (195).

High signal values in safety regions
In a number of safety regions, the signal value for the number of infections today is as high or higher as in regions for which new measures were introduced last Friday, such as the closure of the catering industry. These are the regions Groningen (15), Brabant-Southeast (12), Brabant-North (12), Gelderland-South (12), Gelderland-Central (11), and Zaanstreek-Waterland (11) and Central and West -Brabant (9).
