Corona infection numbers in the Freiburg region have leveled off at a high level – Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district

“The situation seems to be leveling off at a stable high level and the exponential growth in cases seems to be slowed down,” said the health department. This is not yet a trend reversal.

The number of weekly new corona infections has decreased in the Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district and the city of Freiburg compared to the beginning of the month. At the turn of the month the 7-day incidence was still over 100, Freiburg achieved a high of just under 130 at the beginning of November. Most recently, the values fluctuated between 70 and 90. The 7-day incidence indicates the number of new infections per week, calculated for 100,000 inhabitants.

No trend reversal yet

However, the health department responsible for the district and the city does not want to speak of a trend reversal. “The situation seems to be leveling off at a stable high level and the exponential growth in cases seems to be slowed down,” said press spokesman Matthias Fetterer when asked by BZ. It is to be hoped that the measures decided by the Prime Minister’s Conference can contribute to a decrease in the number of cases. More could not be said at the moment, especially since it is still unclear how these decisions will be implemented in detail by the state government.

17 Covid-19 patients in Helios clinics

Last Thursday there were 17 Covid 19 patients in the Helios clinics in the district: eight in Müllheim, seven in Titisee-Neustadt and two in Breisach.
