Corona infection at Norway’s largest dairy

– We have had a meeting with the municipal chief today, and registered those who are close contacts. It is the municipal superior who follows all infection tracking, but we have received confirmation that the infection has come from outside, says dairy manager at Tine dairy, Kjetil Thu.

The director states that the corona infection will not affect production, and believes that consumers will not notice anything about the incident in the first place.

– Tine dairy on Jæren is a large plant with 150 employees, so even if 15 are in quarantine, production will continue, says Thu.

The dairy on Jæren produces cheese, butter and powder.

The dairy will handle everything that happens internally in the facility, where there is mainly one department that is affected.

– This department does not have production this weekend, so we are looking at how we can reallocate employees to run a slightly smaller production from Monday, says Thu.
