Why can the corona numbers differ from each other?
The numbers from the RKI and the health department differed significantly at times. Now they are almost the same again. Deviations can have two reasons:
Firstly, the values had differed earlier because the health department for the city and district of Göttingen had not been able to keep up with the data transmission, so that in the meantime thousands of cases had not yet been recorded in the RKI system. On the other hand, several thousand cases were temporarily listed as active because there is no obligation to report recovery to the health department. At times, cases that were no longer up-to-date were later reported to Berlin, which in turn led to distortions.
Secondly, since April 1st, the Lower Saxony Health Office has only transmitted the number of infected people to the RKI from Monday to Friday – except on public holidays. The cases that accumulate over the weekend are then recorded at the beginning of each week.
Even the value of the health department can only list the cases that have been proven by tests.
