After free beer, gift certificates and free donuts, the state of Ohio has taken its idea to the next level in terms of persuasion. If you get a corona vaccine, you have the chance of a million dollars, announced Governor Mike DeWine.

A winner will be drawn every Wednesday from the end of May from among all adult citizens who receive a vaccine. The lottery is supposed to last five weeks. The governor said the money for the million-dollar prizes came from the government’s corona aid package.
Also prices for students
DeWine had the idea himself. The Republican tweeted that he knew some were going to say, “DeWine, you’re crazy. This million dollar idea of yours is a waste of money.” For him, however, the real waste is a lost life when vaccine is available but not used.
Young people in Ohio also get a lure offer. You can win a four-year scholarship at a state university. An attractive price in the expensive higher education landscape of the USA. The FDA approved the vaccine from BioNTech and Pfizer on Monday for adolescents between the ages of twelve and 15.
Many want to do without
The US vaccination campaign has lost momentum. Around two million people receive a dose every day, 60 percent of adults have received at least one injection. But the demand has decreased.
Many who have not yet been vaccinated continue to hesitate. According to surveys, around a fifth of Americans do not want to be vaccinated. The authorities across the country are therefore promoting various incentives to persuade those who are undecided to have a vaccination.
