The city of Offenbach is at the top with an incidence of 93.6 (previous day: 102.9), but below the important 100 mark. In the Offenbach district, the incidence fell again slightly to 73.9 (previous day: 74.5). It is therefore almost certain that new corona rules will apply in the district from Whit Monday.

In the Odenwaldkreis the number rose again slightly to 65.1 (previous day: 52.7), similarly on Bergstrasse (55.5, previous day: 51.8). Corona in the region: Offenbach in front, but below an incidence of 100
Update from Saturday, May 22nd, 2021, 8.15 a.m .: According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the corona incidence in the city of Offenbach is again below the critical value of 100. After a 7-day incidence of 102.9 was reported the day before after a few days below the limit, it is again on Saturday (as of May 22, 2021, 3.11 a.m.) fell back to 93.6. This means that the days until the federal emergency brake can be loosened will be counted again from today.
In the Offenbach district, the incidence is still only falling slightly, but at 73.9 (previous day: 74.5) it is stable below the limit value. In the Main-Kinzig district, the value remains at 73.7 as high as the day before. In the Darmstadt-Dieburg district, the number of new infections has risen again – here the incidence is now 50.7 (previous day: 48). In the city of Darmstadt, the incidence has risen again and is now again at 73.2 (previous day: 63.2).
For some districts in the region around the cities of Offenbach, Hanau and Darmstadt, new corona rules will soon come into force. In addition to the city of Darmstadt, the relaxation rules of level 1 will also apply from the weekend in the Odenwaldkreis (from Saturday, May 22nd, 2021) and in the Main-Kinzig-Kreis (from Sunday, May 23rd, 2021) Retail trade. Corona incidence in Offenbach is again over 100 in one day
+++ 3.10 p.m .: The corona situation for the region around Offenbach, Hanau and Darmstadt continues to relax for the most part. The situation in the city of Offenbach remains problematic. As the Hessian Ministry of Social Affairs reports, the 7-day incidence is 102.9. The day before it was 89.8 – residents of Offenbach cannot hope for any easing for the time being.
According to information from the district, the 7-day incidence in the Offenbach district fell slightly to 74.5 (previous day: 75.0). The same applies to the Main-Kinzig district (73.7, previous day: 74.9). In Hanau, however, the 7-day incidence rose slightly, as reported by the Main-Kinzig district. The 7-day incidence on Thursday (May 20, 2021) was 92, on Friday (May 21, 2021) it rose to 98, which puts the city dangerously close to the 100 limit.
Corona in the region: Offenbach again over 100
Good news, however, for the Odenwaldkreis. Here the 7-day incidence fell from 60 to 52.7. The Bergstrasse district achieved a similar value (51.8, previous day: 56.6). In Darmstadt the 7-day incidence stagnated and remained at 63.2 at the same value as the previous day. In the Darmstadt-Dieburg district, the 7-day incidence increased marginally from 47.7 to 48.0.
Update from Friday, May 21, 2021, 7.15 a.m .: The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) has published the current corona case numbers for the region around Offenbach, Hanau and Darmstadt (as of May 21, 2021, 3:11 a.m.). The city of Offenbach has to take a setback in the fight against the corona virus. If the incidence there was constant at below 100 in the last few days, it rose again above the critical value on Friday (May 21, 2021). After 24 new infections reported within the last 24 hours, according to the RKI data, it is currently 102.9 in Offenbach (previous day: 89.8). This means that the issue of easing for the city is off the table for the time being.
The Offenbach district, on the other hand, can look forward to continued declining numbers. According to the official information from the RKI, the incidence there fell again slightly, to 74.5 (previous day: 75.0). The incidence value also fell in the Main-Kinzig district. On the previous day it was 74.9 – currently it is 73.7. The Odenwaldkreis also recorded falling numbers – the 7-day incidence is currently 52.7 (previous day: 60). The corona situation in the Bergstrasse district is similar. Here the RKI reports an incidence of 51.8 (previous day: 56.6).
Corona in the region: City of Offenbach again over 100
The Darmstadt-Dieburg district continues to have the lowest 7-day incidence in the Offenbach, Hanau and Darmstadt region. There the incidence value rose slightly compared to the previous day (May 20, 2021) – but at 48.0 the incidence there is still below 50. Should the district be able to keep the numbers stable over the next few days – more coronaviruses would occur -Relaxations beckon. In the city of Darmstadt, the RKI did not register any change in the incidence compared to the previous day – it is currently 63.2.
Corona: Further easing in sight – current case numbers
First report from Thursday, May 20th, 2021, 5:21 p.m .: The third wave gradually flattens out. In all cities and districts in the region around Offenbach, Darmstadt and Hanau, the 7-day incidences are now below the critical value of 100, from which the federal emergency brake comes into force. So easing is in sight.
According to the step-by-step plan from the emergency brake, all districts in the region are expected to relax the corona rules as long as the incidences do not rise above 100 again. These openings have an impact on restaurants, exit restrictions, retail and cultural offerings, among other things. With a stable incidence of less than 50, further easing will be possible in the region around Offenbach, Hanau and Darmstadt.
Corona in the region: Offenbach again highest incidence
In Hesse, the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs (HMSI) gives the incidence on average at 75.2, on Wednesday it was 81.6. The situation is also easing in the city of Offenbach – previously the Corona problem child in Hesse. Since Tuesday (May 18th, 2021) the 7-day incidence in the city has been below 100. If it remains until Saturday (May 22nd, 2021), the easing of level 1 would apply from Whit Monday (May 24th, 2021).
Nevertheless, the highest incidence in the region is again recorded in the city of Offenbach. After the Hessian Ministry of Health and Social Affairs yesterday reported a large decrease in the incidence from 92.9 to 70.6, this value is now again at 89.8. The health department justifies the fact that the incidence was so low on Wednesday (May 19, 2021) with 24 cases that could not be transmitted to the RKI yesterday due to technical problems. Corona incidences are falling: easing in sight in all districts of the region
The incidence continues to decrease in the Offenbach district. On Wednesday (May 19, 2021) it was still 82.9, today the district reports an incidence of 75. Within 24 hours, 55 new infections were registered by the district’s health department. The circle is thus the third working day at a double-digit incidence, from Whit Monday (May 24th, 2021) easing will be possible. In addition, the Offenbach district reports another milestone: Almost 100,000 people have received their first vaccination, over 28,000 citizens have already been vaccinated twice.
The Main-Kinzig-Kreis reports a “noticeable relaxation” of the Corona situation. The incidence is 77, yesterday it was 82. 60 new infections were reported, 26 of them from Hanau. Here, too, the incidence has been below the 100 mark for a few days, health department head Susanne Simmler assumes that “from Sunday onwards in the Main-Kinzig district a lot could be possible again”. As a first step, “Click & Meet” is already allowed in the Main-Kinzig district. In Hanau, the incidence is currently 92 (previous day: 91), the city announced.
Corona in the region around Offenbach, Darmstadt and Hanau: incidences are falling
In the Odenwald district the incidence rises again from 55.8 to 60. Nevertheless, the federal emergency brake could expire on Saturday if there are no big surprises. 15 new corona cases were reported. The Bergstrasse district is at a similar level, but the incidence is decreasing: yesterday it was 62.9, today it is only 56.6. 25 new infections were reported.
The incidence in Darmstadt and Darmstadt-Dieburg has been below 100 for a long time, and the first easing has already been implemented. Both districts, however, report a slight increase in the incidence: In Darmstadt the number rose from 61.3 to 63.2, in Darmstadt-Dieburg from 46.3 to 47.7. According to the figures from the Hessian Ministry of Social Affairs, there were 24 new infections in Darmstadt, and 45 in Darmstadt-Dieburg. (Sebastian Richter)
