Update from May 2nd, 7.56 a.m .: The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) reported 79 new infections with the corona virus in the Main-Kinzig district on Sunday. 20,740 people have been infected since the beginning of the pandemic. The seven-day incidence continues to decrease compared to the previous day (163.4) and is currently 158.6.

The Hessen average is currently 153.4 (previous day: 157.5). There was no new death in connection with Corona in the Main-Kinzig district; so far 560 people have died. According to the RKI, 667 corona cases have been reported in the past seven days. The highest incidence values in Hesse are currently in Offenbach (266.3) and Fulda (219.6).
Update from May 1st, 7.54 a.m .: The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) reported 85 new infections with the coronavirus in the Main-Kinzig district on Saturday since the beginning of the pandemic, 20,661 people have been infected. The seven-day incidence has decreased compared to the previous day (180.0) and is currently 163.4. The RKI did not report any further deaths in connection with Corona in the Main-Kinzig district on Saturday.
So far, 560 people have died in the Main-Kinzig district in connection with Corona, according to the Robert Koch Institute. 687 corona cases have been reported in the past seven days. The Fulda district remains a corona hotspot in Hesse. It has the second highest incidence in Hesse – after Offenbach (260.2). The Hessen average is currently 157.5.

Update from April 29th, 10:06 am: The Robert Koch Institute reported 183 new infections on Thursday for the Main-Kinzig district. A total of 20,460 people have been infected since the beginning of the pandemic. The seven-day incidence increased slightly to 186.9 compared to the previous day (183.1). The Hessen average is 169.9.

+++ 1.45 p.m .: The health department of the Main-Kinzig-Kreis reported another death related to Covid-19 on Wednesday. The total number of deceased rises to 559. According to a press release from the district, 80,800 people have now received an initial vaccination (19.2 percent). In the hospitals of the Main-Kinzig district, 81 patients with a corona infection are treated, 23 of them in intensive care, 13 are ventilated.
Update from April 28, 9.42 a.m.: The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) reported 130 new corona infections for the Main-Kinzig district on Wednesday. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 20,277 people have been infected with the virus. The number of deaths remains unchanged at 558. Compared to the previous day (184.3), the corona incidence has decreased slightly again. On Wednesday the value was 183.1 and thus further above the Hessen average of 175.5.
Meanwhile, the health department in the Main-Kinzig district announced that the first vaccination rate has increased by half a percentage point to 18.5 percent. One of the nine new coronavirus cases in schools in the district affects the Kinzig school in Schlüchtern.

Update from April 27th, 7.56 a.m .: The Robert Koch Institute reported 121 new infections with the corona virus on Tuesday. A total of 20,147 people have been infected with the virus since the beginning of the pandemic. In addition, according to the RKI, two other people died in connection with Covid-19, a total of 558 deaths. The seven-day incidence rises to 184.3 and is thus further above the Hessen average of 176.9.
First report from April 26th: The Main-Kinzig-Kreis reports 78 new infections and one death from Wächtersbach for the weekend. The seven-day incidence is 182. 1529 people are currently classified as infectious. Intensive medical care needs 22 people in the entire district, 10 patients rely on a ventilator.
The Main-Kinzig-Kreis asks that all those who have received a vaccination appointment via the state portal and cannot attend, inform the state immediately. Then the appointments in Gelnhausen and Hanau can be given to other people. Corona vaccinations are registered for 75,100 people in the Main-Kinzig district (initial vaccination rate: 17.9 percent).
