Status: March 31, 2021 6:26 am
In Schleswig-Holstein, the health authorities reported 360 new corona infections to the state on Tuesday (March 30th). The Segeberg and Pinneberg districts are above the 100 incidence limit – the city of Flensburg is below that again.
Nationwide, the seven-day incidence rose further to 71.7. The day before it was 69.6. The number of people in Schleswig-Holstein who have demonstrably been infected with the virus since the beginning of the pandemic increased to 49,581. According to an estimate by the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), around 43,500 people from Schleswig-Holstein have recovered. According to the current State registration office statistics there have been 1,432 deaths (+3) so far in connection with the viral disease Covid-19.
Our map shows the incidence values of the districts in SH. To see the respective values, move the mouse over the circles (desktop) or tap the corresponding circle (smartphone and tablet):
The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) usually updates its data in the morning, but sometimes not until the afternoon. Due to the delay in reporting, the RKI values usually do not correspond to the infection rate, but are too low. As a second number, we therefore give an estimate of how high the 7-day incidence could be without delay in reporting. You can see it when you click on one of the circles. This value comes closer to the actual development of the pandemic. Read more about the incidence values here.
Two circles above the 100 incidence
Two districts in the state are currently above the 100 incidence limit: the Segeberg and Pinneberg districts. Prime Minister Daniel Günther (CDU) announced on Monday that there and in the city of Flensburg From April 1st, stricter corona rules will apply. The state government had the so-called Corona emergency brake concretized on Saturday. According to the state registration office, the incidence value is highest in the Segeberg district – 122.3 (previous day: 115.8). In the Pinneberg district the value is 119.3 (114.2). In the city of Flensburg, the value has been hovering just above and below the 100 incidence limit for days: 98.7 (100.9).
The lowest incidences in Schleswig-Holstein have the districts of North Friesland with 24.7 (unchanged), Plön with 25.6 (26.4) and Dithmarschen with 28.5 (36.8) – the only municipalities below the 35 mark.
Development of the number of corona cases in Schleswig-Holstein
New Corona regulation valid until April 11th
A changed Corona Control Ordinance came into force in Schleswig-Holstein on Monday. It is valid until April 11th and among other things allows more visitors to the homes again. In mid-March, the state government decided that rules for the retail trade as well as for schools and day-care centers will in future be made dependent on the seven-day incidence in the district or urban district.
Vaccinations against the coronavirus
People in Schleswig-Holstein have been vaccinated against the coronavirus since December 27, 2020. The vaccination rate shows what percentage of northern Germans have already received the first of the currently two required vaccinations.
203 corona patients in clinics
203 people who have tested positive for Corona are currently being treated in the country’s hospitals. That is 10 less than the day before. 57 of the Covid patients are in intensive therapy (+1), 32 patients need ventilation (+/- 0).
The following map shows the utilization of the intensive care units in Schleswig-Holstein – summarized at the level of the districts and urban districts. If you select a region (touch or click), you will find out exactly how high the load is there and you will receive information on how many corona patients are being treated in the intensive care unit and how many are being ventilated. The status of the date in the table must be observed. Due to delays in the reporting process, the information provided by the clinics or the DIVI intensive care register may differ.
What these numbers say – and what not
The state government’s statistics show how many confirmed corona infections are known to the authorities in the country and were reported in the intended way. What the statistics cannot clearly show, let alone the current day, is the speed at which the virus is spreading. Because the number of people who have newly tested positive usually also includes post-reported cases from several days. There are delays in the reporting chain, especially around weekends and public holidays.
Regional corona data on the infection process
Some administrations publish a regional evaluation of the corona numbers, but mostly not up-to-date. A selection:
