The seven-day incidence in Schleswig-Holstein is 49.5 after 216 newly reported corona cases (data status 3.9.). 64 people who tested positive for Corona are being treated in the hospital.
The number of people in Schleswig-Holstein who has been proven to have been infected with the corona virus since the beginning of the pandemic is now 72,214. The RKI estimates that around 67,600 Schleswig-Holsteiners have recovered. According to the current State registration office statistics A new death was reported in connection with the viral disease Covid-19 – the total number is 1,656. The seven-day incidence is now 49.5 (previous day: 49.4).

The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) usually updates its data in the morning, but sometimes not until the afternoon – the national figures are usually published the evening before. Kiel with highest incidence
The city of Kiel continues to have the highest seven-day incidence with 92.9 (previous day: 88.0), followed by Flensburg with 77.8 (previous day: 73.4) and Lübeck 73.7 (previous day: 78.8) . The lowest values are in the districts of Schleswig-Flensburg with 17.3 (previous day: 20.2) and Plön with 23.2 (previous day: 23.2).

What these numbers say – and what not
The state government’s statistics show how many confirmed corona infections are known to the authorities in the country and have been reported in the intended way. What the statistics cannot clearly show, let alone the current day, is the speed at which the virus is spreading. Because the number of people who have newly tested positive usually also includes post-reported cases from several days. There are delays in the reporting chain, especially around weekends and public holidays.
