According to an estimate by the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), around 43,200 people from Schleswig-Holstein have recovered. Our map shows the incidence values of the districts in SH. To see the respective values, move the mouse over the circles (desktop) or tap the corresponding circle (smartphone and tablet):
The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) usually updates its data in the morning, but sometimes not until the afternoon. Due to the delay in reporting, the RKI values generally do not correspond to the infection rate, but are too low. As a second number, we therefore give an estimate of how high the 7-day incidence could be without delay in reporting. You can see it when you click on one of the circles. This value comes closer to the actual development of the pandemic. Read more about the incidence values here.
Flensburg is again above the 100 incidence
The incidence value is highest in the city of Flensburg according to the calculation of the state registration office. At 106.5 (previous day: 100.9) the value has risen again above the 100 incidence limit. The Segeberg district is also above the 100 limit with an incidence of 102.1 (previous day 99.2).
This is followed by the Pinneberg district with the highest values with 96.8 and the Stormarn district with 91.7. The lowest incidences in Schleswig-Holstein have the districts of North Friesland with 21.7 (18.7) and Plön with 24.9 (21.8) – the only ones below the 35 mark.
Development of the number of corona cases in Schleswig-Holstein
New measures from March 29th
From March 29, a modified Corona Control Ordinance will come into force in Schleswig-Holstein. It is valid until April 11, 2021 and among other things allows more visitors to the homes again. On Wednesday (March 17th) the state government discussed further steps in the corona pandemic and decided that rules for retailers as well as for schools and daycare centers will in future be made dependent on the seven-day incidence in the district or urban district.
Vaccinations against the coronavirus
People in Schleswig-Holstein have been vaccinated against the coronavirus since December 27, 2020. The vaccination rate shows what percentage of northern Germans have already received the first of the currently two required vaccinations.
188 corona patients in clinics
188 people who have tested positive for Corona are currently being treated in the country’s hospitals. That is ten less than the day before. 46 of the Covid patients are in intensive therapy (+4), 26 patients have to be ventilated (-1).
The following map shows the utilization of the intensive care units in Schleswig-Holstein – summarized at the level of the districts and urban districts. If you select a region (touch or click), you will find out exactly how high the load is there and you will receive information on how many corona patients are being treated in the intensive care unit and how many are being ventilated. The status of the date in the table must be observed. Due to delays in the reporting process, the information provided by the clinics or the DIVI intensive care register may differ.
What these numbers say – and what not
The state government’s statistics show how many confirmed corona infections are known to the authorities in the country and were reported in the intended way. What the statistics cannot clearly show, let alone the current day, is the speed at which the virus is spreading. Because the number of people who have newly tested positive usually also includes post-reported cases from several days. There are delays in the reporting chain, especially around weekends and public holidays.
Regional corona data on the infection process
Some administrations publish a regional evaluation of the corona numbers, but mostly not up-to-date. A selection:
