+++ 7.15 p.m .: The health department for the district Offenbach reports nine more deaths on Tuesday (January 12, 2021). A total of 284 people are on or with the in the Offenbach district Coronavirus died. There were 31 new infections in the last 24 hours. Update from Tuesday, January 12th, 2021, 4:28 p.m .: The town Offenbach published the new infection numbers on Tuesday (January 12th, 2021). The health department reported 21 new cases of infection. This means that there are currently 397 people in Offenbach who work with the Coronavirus are infected, 46 people are currently being hospitalized. The incidence is currently 177.3, the day before it was 180.4. So far, 95 people have died in Offenbach as a result of the coronavirus, four of them since Monday (January 11, 2021).

Im Main-Kinzig district 74 laboratory-confirmed new infections and 14 further deaths were reported the day before. The incidence value of the Main-Kinzig-Kreis fell from 152.7 the previous day to 138. Since the pandemic began, a total of 11,981 people have been infected with the corona virus in the Main-Kinzig district. In the hospitals in Hanau, Gelnhausen and Schluechtern a total of 150 infected people are currently being treated. First report from January 12th, 2021, 2.31 p.m .: Offenbach – The Corona incidents in large parts of the region around Offenbach are still high. According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the most affected is Odenwaldkreis with an incidence of 185.1. In second place comes the City of Offenbach with a value of 178.8. No district or city in the region Offenbach, Hanau and Darmstadt currently reaches the highest corona warning level in the state of Hesse with a value of more than 200.
In Hanau lies the Incidence since Saturday (09.01.2021) below 200. If this value is fallen below in five consecutive days, the tightened measures can be implemented after Escalation concept of the State of Hesse to be repealed.

Corona around Offenbach: Confusion around the 15-kilometer rule in Hanau
However, there was confusion among the population about that 15 kilometer rule. The town hall in Hanau received several inquiries as to whether the restricted range of motion also applies to the city of Hanau. Lord Mayor Claus Kaminsky (SPD) achieved clarity with a post on its Facebook page: “The 15-kilometer radius of movement for people who live in areas with a corona incidence of over 200 never applied to Hanau.”

Still appealed Kaminsky to the common sense. “Avoid unnecessary trips and trips, meet as few people as possible, wear a mask,” urged the mayor of Hanau.
