In the past seven days, according to RKI data, there was in Nuremberg 688 proven New infections. Since the beginning of the pandemic there has been evidence 33.054 (+71) People infected with the Sars-CoV-2 coronavirus. 923 died of or with the virus (source: RKI, as of May 15, 2021).
The numbers for the past few days (including Tuesday) did not reflect the actual infection rate. An analysis of the city has shown that the value on Tuesday was also significantly too high. Duplicate reports from the city authority to the State Office for Health and Food Safety and the RKI were the cause. From Wednesday the numbers were reliable again.
We update the figures for Nuremberg once a day in the morning. It can happen that the RKI makes late registrations, but the morning value is relevant in each case. The change to the previous day or to the last message is shown in brackets.
Since March 16, there have been stricter regulations such as a night curfew. Since the federal emergency brake came into force, new rules apply. The first easing in trade is only possible when the incidence drops below 150 for five consecutive days.
Corona: With the federal emergency brake, these rules now apply in Bavaria

That is the status of vaccinations
So far 230,923 (+10,713) vaccinations have been given in Nuremberg, 50,770 (+2,346) people have already received the first and second vaccinations. In the doctor’s office 67,059 (+6,292) vaccinations have been carried out so far (Source: City of Nuremberg. As of May 14, 2021).

Overview: Which corona rules apply where in Bavaria?
This applies to students from Nuremberg
Since May 3, the development of the incidence value has been used in Bavaria to decide on school lessons. If the value is over 100, only final classes, the 11th and 4th class are allowed to receive face-to-face lessons at a distance, if there is not enough space, then alternating lessons. There is only emergency care in the daycare centers.
As of Monday, May 10, the incidence value 165 will be relevant for primary school students instead. If the value is lower, classroom teaching may take place. However, the following applies: only when the incidence value falls below 100 or 165 for five days in a row will the system relax and more students will be allowed back to class.
Federal emergency brake: These regulations apply from an incidence of 100
The government wants to break the third corona wave with uniform regulations, a corresponding change to the Infection Protection Act has been decided by the Bundestag. With us you can find out which regulations have been in effect nationwide since April 24 with a 7-day incidence of 100 or more.

In the classrooms concerned, only pupils who have had a negative PCR or POC antigen test that is no longer than 24 hours old or who have carried out a corresponding self-test with negative results in school under supervision are allowed to take part in the face-to-face lessons.
These additional rules apply in Nuremberg
The federal emergency brake has been in effect in Bavaria since Saturday, April 24th. This leads to some aggravations in all counties where the incidence is over 100. Since Monday, May 10, it has been possible to relax further in all counties that are stable below an incidence of 100. You can find the exact regulations here.
In addition, since January 18, there has been an obligation in Bavaria to wear an FFP2 mask in public transport and when shopping. Specific to Nuremberg are the public places where a mask is required to be worn. This zone was downsized on March 9th. The mask requirement did not apply in the pedestrian zones Breite Gasse and Karolinenstraße as well as on the main market. It is also only valid Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. (instead of 6:30 a.m.). A list of all streets and squares can be found here.

What does the incidence value mean?
The incidence value describes the rate of new cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last seven days. The information provided by the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) responsible for the nationwide figures, the Bavarian LGL and the local health authorities sometimes differ from one another. One reason for this are different periods and times in which the data is recorded, processed and reported, as well as differing population figures. More information can be found here.
