Corona in MV: Incidence fell further – five deaths

On Monday, 1,375 new corona infections and five more deaths were reported in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. For the first time there were no more reports at the weekend.

The seven-day incidence of new corona infections has fallen significantly in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The State Office for Health and Social Affairs in Rostock reported a value of 486.4 on Monday – on Friday it was 560.4. A week ago, the incidence was 772.7. According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the nationwide average value on Monday morning was 639.5.

For Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, the Lagus reported 1,375 registered new infections within 24 hours on Monday, a week ago it was 918. According to the state office, 343 patients infected with corona were treated in the state’s clinics, 36 fewer than on Friday. There were 29 patients in the intensive care units after 34 on Friday. The agency reported five new deaths. The number of people in the country who have died of or in connection with Corona since the beginning of the pandemic more than two years ago has risen to 2163.

There were two deaths each in Schwerin and the district of Ludwigslust-Parchim, one in Western Pomerania-Rügen.

For the first time at the weekend, Lagus did not publish any new figures, according to an announcement from last week they should only be released on weekdays.

Fewer patients in the hospital

The hospitalization incidence, i.e. the number of new corona patients admitted to hospitals per 100,000 inhabitants within a week, was given by the state office at 3.7. That was a slight decrease of 0.3 compared to Friday. The city of Rostock had the lowest value at 1.4, while the district of Ludwigslust-Parchim had the highest at 6.1.

Vaccination rates in the Northeast remain almost unchanged. According to the RKI, 75.2 percent of people have full basic protection after usually two injections. 57.5 percent of the population received a booster vaccination. 4.2 percent now also have a second booster vaccination.
