The number of registered new corona infections has risen by 77 cases in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania since Saturday (as of Sunday 4:12 p.m.). Overall, the State Office for Health and Social Affairs (LAGuS) 23,435 infections reported in the country since March 2020. According to an estimate by the Robert-Koch-Institut (RKI) In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, 20,525 (+118) of the people who tested positive have recovered from Covid 19 disease. The number of deaths in the northeast rose by three to a total of 692. According to the LAGuS, 108,606 vaccine doses have been administered in the northeast so far (as of February 19) – around 3,600 more than the previous day. 67,411 people received the first vaccination, 41,195 the second.

In the district of Rostock the authorities report an incidence of 43.6, in the Hanseatic city of Rostock it is 26.3 and in Western Pomerania-Rügen it is 23.1.
Currently 297 people with Covid-19 in hospital
According to the latest figures from the LAGuS and the Ministry of Health, 297 (-12) people are currently being treated in a hospital for Covid-19 disease, 48 (-0) of them are in intensive care. According to the intensive care register, 20 (-2) Covid-19 patients are ventilated. The register shows 494 occupied and 130 free intensive care beds for Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (as of Sunday 3:19 p.m.).

46 new infections in Western Pomerania-Greifswald
According to the LAGuS, most of the infected were or are in the district of Vorpommern-Greifswald with 5,421 (+46) infections so far. In the Mecklenburg Lake District there are a total of 5,249 (+3) cases. So far there have been 3,604 (+1) infections in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district. In the district of Vorpommern-Rügen, 2,132 (+6) infections were reported. In the district of Northwest Mecklenburg, the authorities registered 1,983 (+6) people who were verifiably infected with the corona virus. The LAGuS reports 1,952 (+5) cases for the Rostock district. The state capital Schwerin with 1,625 (+0) and the Hanseatic city of Rostock with 1,478 (+10) cases continue to have the lowest total numbers.
Active infection events in 28 geriatric care facilities in MV
Since the end of January, LAGuS has also been publishing figures on the situation in old people’s homes, schools and daycare centers. Accordingly, as of Friday there were active infection events in 28 (-1) geriatric care facilities. 605 (-30) residents and 292 (-46) employees are affected. In addition, there are active infection events at two (-1) schools and 15 (-3) daycare centers and after-school care centers. One student and one teacher or employee are affected in the schools. In the daycare centers and after-school care centers, 25 children and 14 educators and employees were infected with the virus.
