Corona in MV: 64 new infections, no further deaths | NDR.de – news

In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, the authorities have registered 64 new corona infections since Saturday. There were no other deaths. The national incidence rate is 63.8.

The number of registered new corona infections has increased by 64 cases in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania since Saturday (as of Sunday, 3:35 p.m.). A week earlier there were 48 new cases. Overall, the State Office for Health and Social Affairs (LAGuS) 26,761 infections reported in the country since March 2020. According to an estimate by the Robert-Koch-Institut (RKI) In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, 23,754 (+129) of the people who tested positive have recovered from Covid 19 disease. The number of deaths in the northeast is unchanged at 806. As a rule, the numbers are lower on weekends because fewer Covid 19 cases are reported to the RKI than on other days of the week. According to the information from the LAGuS, 166,136 vaccine doses have been administered in the northeast (as of March 12). According to this, 109,391 people received a first vaccination (vaccination rate 6.80 percent), 56,745 also the second (vaccination rate 3.53 percent).

The incidence value in MV is now 63.8

Nationwide, the incidence value rose from 61.5 to 63.8 infections per 100,000 inhabitants within a week compared to the previous day. However, it is still well below the national average (79.1). On Sunday a week ago, the Northeast bureau recorded an incidence of 68.3. In the district of Vorpommern-Greifswald the seven-day incidence value is now 99.7, in the district of Northwest Mecklenburg it is 96.0. The Ludwigslust-Parchim district has an incidence value of 80.3. The LAGuS reports a value of 72.1 for Schwerin, 70.4 for the Rostock district and 43.2 for Western Pomerania-Rügen. In the Mecklenburg Lake District, the authorities register an incidence of 39.9 and in the Hanseatic City of Rostock of 23.4.

Currently 223 people with Covid-19 in hospital

According to the latest figures from the LAGuS and the Ministry of Health, 223 (+7) people across the country are currently being treated for Covid-19 disease in a hospital, 48 (+5) of them are in an intensive care unit. According to the intensive care register, 24 (+1) Covid-19 patients are ventilated invasively. The register shows 479 (-25) occupied and 150 (+24) vacant intensive care beds for Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (as of Sunday 4:19 p.m.).

38 new infections in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district

According to the LAGuS, most of the infected were or are in the district of Vorpommern-Greifswald with 6,305 (+38) infections so far. In the Mecklenburg Lake District there are a total of 5,580 (+5) cases. So far there have been 4,149 (+1) infections in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district. 2,519 (+2) infections were reported in the Rostock district. In the district of Northwest Mecklenburg, the authorities registered 2,426 (+3) people who were verifiably infected with the corona virus. The LAGuS reports 2,330 (+8) cases for the district of Vorpommern-Rügen. The state capital Schwerin continues to have the lowest total numbers with 1,821 (+/- 0) and the Hanseatic city of Rostock with 1,631 (+7) cases.

Infection incidence in geriatric care facilities

The LAGuS also publishes figures on the situation in old people’s homes as well as in schools and daycare centers. Accordingly, as of Friday there are active infection events in 22 (+/- 0) geriatric care facilities. 189 (-62) residents and 89 (-31) employees are affected. There are also active infection events at 27 (-4) daycare centers and after-school care centers. 11 (-3) children and 23 (-7) educators and employees are affected. There are also active infection events at 16 (+12) schools. 5 (+3) teachers or employees and 13 (+8) students are affected.

The LAGuS’s daily corona statistics only include people who have their primary residence in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The LAGuS also publishes regular reports on infections among guests. These are all those people who have been found to be infected in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, but who do not have a primary residence in the state.
