In the Vorpommern-Greifswald district there are a total of 2,535 (+55) cases. So far there have been 1,864 (+4) infections in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district. The lowest total numbers are found in the Hanseatic city of Rostock with 932 (+9) and the state capital Schwerin with 953 (+0) cases.
Less testing during the holidays
The Robert Koch Institute pointed out that fewer people usually see a doctor during the holidays and at the turn of the year. When interpreting the number of cases, it should therefore be noted that fewer samples are taken and fewer laboratory tests are carried out. This means that fewer test results are reported to the responsible health authorities. In addition, it is possible that not all health authorities and responsible state authorities transmit data to the RKI every day.
Who does the statistics capture?
The LAGuS’s daily corona statistics only record people who have their primary residence in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The LAGuS also publishes regular reports on infections among guests. These are all those people who have been found to be infected in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, but who do not have a primary residence in the state.
