Lower Saxony has updated its Corona regulation: From now on, further easing for incidences below 10 will apply. This mainly applies to meetings and celebrations.
If the incidence is below 10, the number may be increased from 10 to 25 people indoors and 50 people outdoors. Meetings beyond this are allowed if all adults have a negative test result. For example, birthday, wedding and school enrollment celebrations are now possible again.
Relaxation in leisure activities
Other areas that benefit from the easing of incidences below 10 are, for example, city tours and guided tours through nature and landscapes, here neither a distance requirement nor a mask requirement apply. In the case of tourist overnight stays, a negative corona test only needs to be proven on arrival. Club and discotheque guests must provide evidence of a negative test or proof of full vaccination or recovery. Here, too, there is no mask requirement and distance requirement. In the future, it will be possible to shop at the weekly markets without a mask.
It is no longer necessary to wear a mask in schoolyards
Also: relief for all students in Lower Saxony, because the mask requirement in the playgrounds is no longer necessary. In school buildings, however, the mask requirement remains in the hallways, stairwells and toilets, as Minister of Culture Grant Hendrik Tonne (SPD) announced on Friday. The step is possible because measures such as the mandatory regular corona self-tests continue to apply.
Ton: “Nobody has to worry about their child”
Speaking of schools: Lower Saxony’s pupils will start the new school year with face-to-face lessons and protective measures after the summer vacation. The compulsory test will continue until the end of September and the mask requirement will continue to apply – if the incidence is over 35, even during class, said Tonne (SPD). Schools should also continue to ventilate regularly. “For me, it is right at the top of the agenda that the educational and graduation opportunities of our students are preserved and comparable to previous years. Nobody has to worry about their child,” said the Minister of Education.
AstraZeneca also for people under 60
There is also a new development when it comes to vaccines: In the vaccination centers in Lower Saxony, people under the age of 60 can also be vaccinated with the AstraZeneca product from next week. If you put yourself on the waiting list for a vaccination, you can report your readiness for a vaccination with Astrazeneca, announced State Secretary Heiger Scholz on Tuesday in Hanover. Normally, the drug is only intended for people over 60, but with appropriate advice, younger people can also be vaccinated with the vaccine if they wish.
Limit 35 incidence
In all districts and urban districts with a constant incidence below 35, ten people from up to ten households are allowed to meet according to the currently applicable ordinance, as the Lower Saxony State Chancellery announced on Friday evening. In addition, fully vaccinated, convalescent and children under 14 years of age can take part in a meeting without being counted.
With an incidence of less than 10 in a county, there is relaxation for private meetings and events. more

Vaccination prioritization is omitted, waiting for Stiko recommendation
As recommended by the health ministers of the federal states and the federal government, there has been no vaccination prioritization since June 7th. Health Minister Behrens (SPD) emphasized that all citizens from the groups that are on the waiting lists will keep their places. The Stiko had indicated several times that it may not want to give a general vaccination recommendation for all children, but only for those with previous illnesses.
The waiting list is long: 123,000 people joined the group on Monday – including almost 30,000 children and young people. (08.06.2021) more
