The corona virus continues to spread in Hesse in autumn. In many places the incidence is rising again – it is particularly high in two cities.

Update from Saturday, November 6th, 2021, 9:13 am: The corona pandemic remains an important topic in Hesse. As the current figures from the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) show, the incidence increased from 135.8 on Friday (November 5, 2021) to 141.8 on Saturday (November 6, 2021). During this time, 1,701 people were infected with the corona virus. The RKI reports the highest incidence for the city of Offenbach: it is now 210.1 (previous day: 202.5).

The city of Frankfurt has also exceeded the number 200 with a 7-day incidence of 204 (previous day: 190.2). Within 24 hours, 266 people in the city were infected with Covid-19. In addition to numerous new infections, the RKI also reports six deaths related to the virus. These are spread across the Offenbach, Fulda, Bergstrasse, Gießen and Groß-Gerau districts. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 7,901 people have died in Hessen due to the virus.

Update from Friday, November 5th, 2021, 6:25 a.m .: On Friday, the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) reported 1738 new corona infections and 17 deaths for Hesse. The city of Frankfurt registered eight new Covid-19 deaths, the Wetterau district three, the Limburg-Weilburg district two, the Main-Kinzig district, the Fulda district, the Hersfeld-Rotenburg district and the Hochtaunus district each one. The total number of coronavirus-related deaths in Hesse is 7,895. The 7-day incidence is 135.8 and has thus increased again (previous day: 130.0). In most counties and cities the value goes up.

The city of Offenbach continues to have the highest incidence in Hesse. The value on Friday was 202.5 and has thus risen again to over 200. Then the city of Frankfurt (190.2) and the Odenwaldkreis (184.0) follow. The Rheingau-Taunus-Kreis currently has the lowest incidence (74.7). However, the value also rises here (previous day: 67.8).

The hospitalization rate in Hesse is 3.89 (+0.29, as of November 5, 2021). This is shown by the data from the RKI. There are currently 182 corona patients in the intensive care unit. 78 of them have to be artificially ventilated. In Hesse, 34 Covid-specific intensive care beds are still available, as can be seen in the DIVI intensive care register (as of November 5, 2021).

Corona case numbers in Hessen: More than 1,800 new infections – the incidence is increasing

Update from Thursday, November 4th, 2021, 6:25 a.m .: The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) reported new corona infections and six deaths on Thursday 1824. The city of Frankfurt registered three, the city of Offenbach, the Odenwaldkreis and the Hochtaunuskreis each one Covid-19 deaths. The total number of coronavirus-related deaths in Hesse is 7,878. The 7-day incidence is 130.0 and has thus risen again (previous day: 126.3).

The city of Offenbach has the highest incidence value in Hesse (189.5). Then come the city of Frankfurt (185.1) and the Odenwaldkreis (172.6). In the Hersfeld-Rotenburg district, which had the clearly lowest incidence in the past few days, the value more than doubled from Wednesday to Thursday (from 29.1 to 71.5). The Rheingau-Taunus-Kreis now has the lowest incidence (67.8). The value also increased significantly in the Werra-Meißner district (from 110.9 to 138.9).

There are currently 178 corona patients in the intensive care unit. 84 of them have to be artificially ventilated. Corona in Hessen: Incidence is increasing – eleven deaths

Update from Wednesday, November 3rd, 2021, 6:21 am: For all of Hesse, the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) announced 1764 new infections with the corona virus on Wednesday. Eleven new deaths related to Covid-19 were registered, one in Frankfurt, one in the Main-Kinzig district, one in the Hochtaunus district, three in the Bergstrasse district and five in the Offenbach district. The total number of deaths in Hesse is 7,872. The 7-day incidence increases to a value of 126.3 (previous day: 122.9).

The city of Offenbach still has the highest incidence value with 185.6 (previous day: 180.3). 76 new corona infections were registered here. This is followed by the Odenwaldkreis with an incidence of 175.7 (previous day: 177.8), the city of Frankfurt with 169.9 (previous day: 172.8) and the Offenbach district with 162.1 (previous day: 161.8). The Hersfeld-Rotenburg district has the clearly lowest value with 29.1 (previous day 38.2). On Wednesday it is the only region in Hesse with an incidence below 70.

Update from Tuesday, November 2nd, 2021, 6:22 am: The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) reported 811 new infections with the corona virus and four deaths on Tuesday. The city of Frankfurt registered two, the districts Limburg-Weilburg and Offenbach each one Covid-19 deaths. The total number of deaths in connection with Covid-19 in Hesse is 7,862. The 7-day incidence is 122.9 and has thus fallen slightly (previous day: 124.2).

The city of Offenbach (180.3), the Odenwaldkreis (177.8) and the city of Frankfurt (172.8) have the highest incidence values. Here the values ​​went down in each case. In return, the district of Giessen (107.9) recorded a significant increase in incidence (previous day: 89.9). 90 new infections with the corona virus were registered here. The incidence is clearly lowest in the Hersfeld-Rotenburg district (38.2).

Corona in Hessen: Two regions with an incidence over 200

Update from Monday, November 1st, 2021, 6:50 a.m .: The corona situation in Hesse is getting worse. On Monday, the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) reported 560 new infections and one death. The total number of deaths in connection with Covid-19 is 7,858. The 7-day incidence is now 124.2 (previous day: 118.8).

The city of Offenbach (210.1), the Odenwaldkreis (203) and the city of Frankfurt (177.1) have the highest incidence values. In the Offenbach district in particular, many new infections with the corona virus were registered (+223). Accordingly, the incidence increased from 112.5 to 166.3. The incidence is clearly lowest in the Hersfeld-Rotenburg district (30.8).

The hospitalization rate is 3.53 (as of October 31, 2021). This is reported by the Hessenschau, citing data from the Ministry of Social Affairs. A week ago the value was 2.38 per 100,000 inhabitants. Update from Sunday, October 31, 2021, 6.32 a.m .: The corona situation in Hesse is coming to a head again. Again, the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) reports over 1000 new infections with the corona virus for Hesse. A total of 1,027 other people were infected, and two more deaths were recorded (as of October 31, 2021, 3:23 a.m.). The incidence throughout Hesse continues to rise and is now 118.8.

According to the RKI, the hospitalization incidence in Hesse is 3.73 (as of October 29, 2021). In addition, the intensive care units in Hesse are filling up again with corona infected people. There are currently 161 Covid-19 patients in an intensive care unit. 72 of them have to be artificially ventilated. Of the free intensive care beds, 38 Covid-specific intensive care beds are currently free, reports the DIVI intensive care register (as of October 31, 2021, 6:10 a.m.).

Corona situation in Hesse is coming to a head: Drastic increase in several regions

Furthermore, the city of Offenbach is the sad leader in terms of incidence in the Hessian comparison. This is 198.6 and has increased by more than five counters within 24 hours. The Odenwaldkreis (197.4) is also scratching at an incidence of 200. The incidence has risen by more than 16 points compared to the previous day (170.5). The situation in Frankfurt is similar. There the incidence rose from 153.8 to currently 167.4. In Wiesbaden the value climbs from 108.4 to 117.4. In Hesse, the incidence of a total of 16 cities and districts is above the value of 100.

The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) reported 1,109 new infections within one day on October 30, 2021. There have also been two other deaths related to the virus. The 7-day incidence, which again cracked the 100 mark on Thursday (October 28, 2021), increased from 111.6 to 114.7 compared to the previous day.

The city of Offenbach continues to have the highest incidence in Hesse. With a value of 193.3, the city is just before the 200 mark. This is followed by the Odenwaldkreis with 170.5, the city of Frankfurt (153.8) and the Wetteraukreis (152.1). The district of Hersfeld-Rotenburg has the lowest value (34.9).
