Accordingly, the seven-day incidence is now 737.8.

However, the RKI warns on its website against overestimating fluctuations at the beginning of the week: “Since fewer tests, laboratory diagnostics, reports and transmissions take place at the weekend, the significance of the daily reporting of new infections at the weekend and at the beginning of the week is limited.” Transmission by health authorities is not legally mandatory.

First report from April 28th: Wiesbaden – The obligation to test in schools in Hesse will be lifted. Instead, all students and staff will be given two tests a week for voluntary testing at home, Prime Minister Volker Bouffier (CDU) announced on Thursday in Wiesbaden. The students received the free antigen self-tests from the school. This regulation will apply from next Monday.

In the schools, the incidence of infection is manageable, Bouffier justified the measure. “That’s why we were able to adapt protective measures to the current situation here as well.” All students would have to go back to school.

Upon request, they could be exempted from the attendance requirement. According to the head of government, the prerequisite for this is that they themselves or members of their household would be exposed to the risk of a serious course of the disease if they were infected. This applies, for example, to a medically confirmed previous illness or a diagnosed immune deficiency. In addition, with the new Corona regulation, a new hygiene plan comes into force, according to which special regulations for breaks or all-day operations are no longer applicable. Bouffier announced that the lessons in the subjects of sports and music as well as cross-school sports competitions could take place again without restrictions.

According to the new rules, the quarantine period for people infected with the corona virus in Hesse is only five days. A free test is no longer necessary, said the Prime Minister. If symptoms of illness have occurred, the isolation should be continued on your own responsibility until you have been symptom-free for at least 48 hours.

Volker Bouffier: “The pandemic is not over yet”

What is also new with the new regulation is that unvaccinated household members of people who have tested positive no longer have to be in quarantine. Household members and close contacts of infected people are recommended to reduce their contacts for at least five days and to test themselves daily, explained Bouffier.

In the future, infected medical staff will be allowed to resume their work with a free test on the fifth day after the start of isolation at the earliest. The negative test result must be available to the health department.

“The pandemic is not over yet, we are aware of that,” emphasized the Prime Minister. However, due to the current situation, it is responsible to take another step towards normality. A signpost in the corona pandemic is the situation in the Hessian hospitals. However, there are still fewer people who have to go to the hospital with a severe course and are treated there in intensive care. The state government has therefore decided to simplify the quarantine rules.

The new Hessian Corona rules come into force this Friday (April 29th). They are initially valid in the country until May 26th. (dpa)
