Corona in Cologne: alcohol ban remains in place for the time being

Cologne –

Are we on the right track? At least the falling incidence values and advancing vaccinations in Cologne suggest exactly that in the corona pandemic. On Friday (May 28), the city of Cologne’s crisis team had invited to a press conference in the historic town hall (Alter Markt) to provide information about the current situation.

  • Corona in Cologne: the incidence value continues to fall
  • Crisis team informs at PK in the historical town hall
  • Alcohol ban in Cologne remains in place for the time being

As with the previous press conferences, Andrea Blome, who has been head of the crisis team since Mayor Henriette Reker’s retirement, was there and explained the general situation.

Corona in Cologne: what happens next with focus vaccinations?

An important issue: the opening of the outdoor catering from Monday (May 31) seems likely. The previously existing alcohol and residence bans in Cologne remain in place outside of the catering trade.

In the night from Sunday to Monday at midnight, the night curfew in Cologne ends. That was announced at the press conference.

The focus vaccinations in Cologne stall because the state of North Rhine-Westphalia has so far provided far fewer additional vaccines than expected and required. The current campaign in Kalk is a success for the city, but beyond that, the future of the campaign is still open.

Corona situation in Cologne: Dr. Miller and Dr. Nießen on site at PK

Andrea Blome, here at the PK of the crisis team at the end of April, will give an update on the corona situation in Cologne on Friday (May 28).
