Meissen. Is the second lockdown in the Meissen district showing the first effects? One could come to this conclusion if one looks at the current curve of the seven-day incidence value. It has been on a downward trend for several days.
On Friday, the Robert Koch Institute for the district of Meißen reported the previous high of the seven-day incidence of 613.9. Since then she has been falling. On Sunday it was 544.9. The curve of the seven-day incidence value determined at the same time by the Meißen Health Department has even been falling since December 29th. At that time, it had passed the 660 mark for the first time.
The next few days will reveal whether this downward trend will continue, when many people in the Meißen district will go back to work after the holidays and the turn of the year and will be tested again. At the moment, however, there is something like hope for relaxation, even if the seven-day incidence value is still one of the highest in all of Germany.
Compared to Saturday, 85 people who tested positive for the corona virus have come. The virus has been detected in 8,995 people since the outbreak of the pandemic in March 2020. The district is scratching the 9,000 mark.
There are currently 1,683 infected people in quarantine. 293 Contact persons of positive cases must also restrict themselves and are not allowed to leave the apartment or their own property.
Irrespective of the quarantine status, 166 residents of the Meißen district are currently recorded as inpatients. 19 of them are being treated in the intensive care unit. A total of 347 people died of or with Corona. This is eight more deaths compared to Saturday.
