Corona virus (COVID-19) in India is getting more violent. This situation needs to be addressed quickly by the Indonesian government.
The reason is, the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) revealed that there are Indonesian citizens India who exodus or enter Indonesia in a busy manner. They fled to Indonesia because of the corona case that was going crazy in India.
“First, related to the arrival of Indonesian citizens and foreigners, yesterday many Indians entered Indonesia, a lot,” said the Head of Sub-Directorate for Health Quarantine of the Directorate General of P2P. Ministry of Health, dr Bengat, in Pekanbaru, Wednesday (22/4/2021).
“We have been closely monitoring today, because there is an exodus of information,” he added.
This was conveyed in a meeting chaired directly by the Head of BNPB Letjen TNI Doni Monardo and the Governor of Riau Syamsuar at Serindit Hall.
Foreigners from India come to Indonesia by air by landing at Soekarno-Hatta Airport. They are currently being quarantined in a hotel so that they can be easily monitored.
He said Indian citizens exodus after their country was hit pandemic COVID-19. They then entered Jakarta and several other districts in large numbers.
“Now India is experiencing a COVID-19 tsunami and they are entering Jakarta right now. In Samarinda there are already positive ones, so we discussed it with the leadership to tighten it up, we want to know if there are new variants,” he said.
“Many of them enter having kitas (limited stay permit cards) and using visas. This may also be the duty of Immigration,” said Bengat.
Head of BNPB and Chair of the COVID-19 Task Force Doni Monardo immediately responded to the report. He asked Directorate General of Immigration and Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) act quickly before the massive exodus.
“I just found out that there are foreigners who can enter Indonesia. This is important information, please explore it, because we are still prohibiting foreigners from entering, unless they have ours, it is not allowed outside of that,” said Doni.
“The Director General of Immigration and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, please don’t let us allow the arrival of foreigners. One side is not allowed to go home, but there are foreigners who are facilitated,” said Doni.
