So far, if people have to be quarantined because of a corona infection, they have received wage replacement payments. According to Heiner Garg (FDP), these could no longer apply to unvaccinated people in Schleswig-Holstein from October 1.
Health Minister Garg told NDR Schleswig-Holstein that he had always insisted on a nationwide regulation. If this does not come, he considers October 1 to be a suitable date to cancel the wage replacement payment for the unvaccinated. The background is that the vaccination centers in Schleswig-Holstein will be closed on September 30th. “This is how long people have the opportunity to get vaccinated in the vaccination centers,” says Garg.

Wage replacement payment regulated by the Infection Protection Act
The cancellation of the wage replacement payment for people who have to be in quarantine because of a risk of infection on official instructions and are not vaccinated has already been decided by the federal government through the Infection Protection Act. So far, payments have been made in these cases anyway, also because not enough corona vaccine was available in the past. It was still unclear on what date Schleswig-Holstein would implement this regulation.
