A so-called hard lockdown is necessary nationwide to contain the corona pandemic. The Prime Minister’s Conference (MPK) and Chancellor Angela Merkel agreed on this today. At a subsequent press conference in Potsdam, Brandenburg’s Prime Minister Dietmar said Woidke: “Due to the increasing number of infections, the hard cut is now urgently required. There was great agreement on this today. Many comments from the population show me that the vast majority agree and understand this. My thanks for that! “

The necessary new Containment Ordinance will be worked out immediately and should be decided by the cabinet tomorrow. It should apply from Wednesday (December 16) and until January 10, 2021. Brandenburg previous high was yesterday Saturday With 1.019 new cases reached within 24 hours. Today On Sunday it’s 751 new cases. According to the LAVG, a total of 29,053 laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 cases are statistically recorded in Brandenburg (cumulative from the 10th calendar week 2020). These are 5,329 more than a week ago. The nationwide 7 day incidence per 100,000 inhabitants is today 206,8. A week ago this value was 145.0.
