The so-called vaccination prioritization falls on Monday in Lower Saxony. Then every citizen from the age of 12 can be vaccinated or put on the waiting list.
The state government had decided to repeal the vaccination centers last week. A sequence is given by working through the waiting lists. In addition, the vaccination rate in the country is high for particularly vulnerable groups, according to the Lower Saxony Ministry of Health. So far, the corona vaccination has focused on elderly and particularly sick people as well as people who are professionally exposed to higher risk of infection.

High rush expected
Registrations for an appointment at the vaccination centers should start on Monday via the Vaccination portal of the country as well as via the hotline at Telephone number (0800) 99 88 665 to be possible. In view of the high number of calls to be expected, the Ministry of Health recommends using the online portal for registration in particular. Anyone who has been given an appointment should also make sure that they are no longer on any other waiting list, the ministry said.
People have to be patient
The state points out that waiting times of several weeks should be expected. Around 590,000 people were still on the lists of vaccination centers in Lower Saxony, and numerous others were on those of general practitioners and specialists, it said on Friday. “All Lower Saxony residents who belong to priority groups 1 to 3 and are already on the waiting list will still have their place,” said Health Minister Daniela Behrens (SPD). “Since the vaccine is still in short supply and there are currently a lot of second vaccinations, it takes time to take care of these people,” said Behrens.
Behrens hopes for more vaccine
The state of Lower Saxony continues to receive around 235,000 doses per week from the federal government for the 52 vaccination centers in June. According to the Ministry of Health, the federal government’s delivery announcements for the third quarter are not yet available. “We would like a significant increase in the delivery quantities for the vaccination centers,” said Behrens. Doctors in private practice receive 350,000 doses a week for their practices. Currently, more than 46 percent of Lower Saxony received the first vaccination and almost 20 percent the second vaccination.
Company doctors will also vaccinate from Monday
On Monday, the company doctors across the country will also join the vaccination campaign. Some companies have already tested the vaccination in operation in the past few weeks. Lower Saxony’s company doctors will initially receive around 70,000 doses per week.
