An average of 170.3 people were hospitalized with COVID-19 each day between October 30 and November 5, a 24 percent increase over the previous seven-day period. This is evident from the figures of health institute Sciensano on Saturday morning.

In addition, between October 27 and November 2, an average of 7,208 new infections were diagnosed daily, an increase of 10 percent compared to the week before. But an average of 10 percent more tests were also taken during the same period.
The positivity ratio was 10 percent. According to Sciensano’s dashboard, the reproduction number drops slightly to 1.15. That still means that the epidemic is growing in strength. Furthermore, between October 27 and November 2, an average of about 20 people lost their lives every day, an increase of 14 percent.
