This Saturday there are again protests against the Corona measures in Freiburg. A counter-demonstration has also been announced – but probably smaller than a week ago.
The route of the demonstration train of the demonstration against the Corona measures leads on Saturday afternoon via Friedrichstrasse – Friedrichring – Europaplatz – Habsburgerstrasse – Zähringer Strasse – Komturstrasse – Rennweg – Friedhofstrasse – Tennenbacher Strasse – Stefan-Meier-Strasse back to Friedrichstrasse. Like last weekend, the demonstration train does not go directly past the university clinic.
The left-wing alliance “Slow the brakes across the board” has called for a counter-demonstration. For the Tennenbacher Platz it has announced a protest action under the motto “Schamt-Euch-Allee”.
Road users north of Freiburg city center and in the Neuburg, Herdern, Brühl and Stühlinger districts must expect closed roads and massive disruptions until the early evening. The demonstration events could also affect tram traffic.
Action for reason, responsibility and solidarity
Meanwhile, Freiburg’s Lord Mayor Martin Horn thinks: The silent majority, which behaves responsibly and prudently in the pandemic, is not visible enough. That’s why he and the mayors launched the digital signature campaign “Our Freiburg – together against Corona”.
57 prominent supporters from politics, culture, churches, education, business, sport and social affairs have signed the appeal as the first to sign it. Everyone is invited to sign the appeal at meinefreiburg.de, according to the mayor.
