In Baden-Württemberg they have agreed on a night curfew. But what are the rules in other federal states? An overview

Federal states tighten corona measures: These are the new rules
A Curfew is considered the strictest measure in the corona pandemic. It should only be used when it is unavoidable. Baden-Wuerttemberg was the first federal state to apply this regulation. The state government there had one on Thursday (December 3rd) Curfew for all regions decided where the Incidence value over 200 lies.
As part of this “Hotspot–strategy” allowed to Citizens only leave their apartment between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. for “valid reasons” leave. These include the Go to work or to the doctor, accompanying the dying or caring for animals. This currently affects three districts in Baden-Württemberg. Including Mannheim, Calw and Pforzheim (as of December 5th).
Curfew due to Corona: These federal states are introducing stricter rules
But Baden-Wuerttemberg stands with the Curfew as Corona measure not alone. For example, Bavaria, Saxony and cities in Rhineland-Palatinate announced new rules for hotspots:
- In Bayern is one Curfew from now on where the Seven-day incidence over 200 lies. Here you can only leave the house between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. under certain circumstances. In addition, Bavaria’s Prime Minister announced on Sunday (December 6th) that exit restrictions would be introduced for the entire state.
- In Rheinland–Palatinate some cities are planning to enforce a curfew on their own. The state government had for one nationwide regulation so far no occasion seen. So will Ludwigshafen and Speyer introduce a rule similar to that in Bavaria.
- In Saxony the curfew applies all day and throughout the state. All people who leave their homes must have a valid reason to do so. According to the Corona regulation, however, this also includes visiting another household and a trip to the allotment garden.

Curfew and exit restrictions: what’s the difference
When introducing the new measure, it is important to distinguish between the terms curfew and exit restriction. According to the catalog of fines, sport or a walk in the fresh air is still allowed for the latter.
In the case of a curfew, on the other hand, as imposed in Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg, among others, there is a real ban on going out. The apartment or house may only be left for certain reasons.
Curfew due to Corona: In NRW you don’t want to know anything about it
There is not yet a general curfew in Germany. In federal states such as Example in NRW no one wants to know anything about this strict measure yet. When the curfew was in the room in the spring, it had happened NRW Prime Minister Armin Laschet explicitly against such a measure. He had it as that “Really last resort” (all news about the coronavirus in NRW at RUHR24.de).
Angela Merkel was not considered a supporter of the curfew in the spring.

Also in the others Federal states do you want one Curfew not yet introduce. Among other things, because it keeps coming back criticism at the effectiveness the measure gives. Left-wing MP Niema Movassat considers a curfew to be unconstitutional. In addition, most contacts would take place during the day, which is why such a rule would not make much sense.
Also Angela Merkel was not considered for a long time Advocate one Curfew. It remains to be seen whether she and the other prime ministers of the federal states will change direction in the coming period.
