Almost all those affected probably show only mild symptoms thanks to vaccination protection. Two people, a resident and an employee, were admitted to the hospital as a precautionary measure. 16 infections were confirmed by a PCR test; a further four are suspected due to a positive antigen test.
Ban on visits as an immediate measure
As an immediate measure, according to a broadcast by the state of Tyrol, all residents and employees were tested. There should be further PCR tests every 48 hours, explained Michael Fankhauser from the state’s Corona task force. For the time being, it is not possible for visitors to enter the home.
The home management is already in contact with the health department to take the necessary protective measures against further infections. The residents who tested positive and who do not require any treatment in the hospital are in individual isolation in their rooms.
Infections in Tyrol continue to rise
In Tyrol, the number of infections continues to rise, albeit a little more slowly than in Austria-wide comparison. A total of 1,097 people were verifiably corona-positive on Saturday, 130 more than on Friday. The incidence number in Tyrol has risen to 90.5, nationwide it is a little over 115. Occupancy in Tyrol’s hospitals is currently still at a stable level, according to the state.
