HAARLEM – The number of people in Haarlem and surroundings who tested positive for corona in the past two weeks has again almost doubled compared to the previous period. This is evident from figures from the RIVM, which NH Nieuws has made transparent with the help of LocalFocus. This means that the risk level ‘very serious’ still applies in the region.

The number of cases has doubled, especially in Zandvoort and Bloemendaal. In Zandvoort, per 100,000 inhabitants there, 368 people were tested positive for the past two weeks and in Bloemendaal 255. In practice, this means that 63 people were tested positive for corona in Zanvoort in the past two weeks and 60 people in Bloemendaal. In the preceding period, there were 32 and 34 respectively.
The infections are also increasing in Haarlem. There, 328 people per 100,000 inhabitants have been tested positive in the past two weeks. In practice, this means that 534 people have tested positive for corona in the past two weeks.
Decline
Only in Heemstede does the number of cases fall again, from 63 cases to 43 cases.
