Government Vietnam enforce lockdown (lockdown) in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, a new attempt to control the outbreak corona virus which has forced a third of the country’s population to stay at home.
As reported by the news agency AFP, Saturday (24/7/2021), the lockdown which took effect today has an impact on eight million people who live in Hanoi.
Vietnamese authorities reported more than 7,000 new infections across the country on Friday, the third record in the number of daily infections over the past week.
The normally bustling center of the capital looks empty and shops are closed when lockdown came into effect, although people were still seen on the streets of the outskirts of the city.
“I think people in Hanoi like myself agree with the city’s sudden decision to lock down the city,” said local resident Nguyen Van Chien.
“We have to take economic risks to fight this pandemic,” he added.
After successfully suppressing the epidemic corona virus Last year, Vietnam has experienced a spike in cases of Corona infections since late April.
