One day after the nationwide cinemas reopened, The Light Cinema in Halle-Neustadt announced that it was closing. Managing director Keith Pullinger justified this with the financial pressure caused by the corona pandemic. On the homepage he thanked him for the hard work and commitment of his team in the 20 years of existence.

Eight halls, 1,650 seats
The cinema in the Neustädter Passage had eight halls with a total of 1,650 seats. First opened as a subsidiary of the Kinowelt, later Cinemaxx took over the operation, then The Light Cinema opened in the Neustadt Centrum.

The cinemas in Saxony-Anhalt returned from the involuntary Corona break on July 1st. For safety reasons, it is still compulsory to wear a mask up to the seat. A distance of one and a half meters must also be maintained. There is no longer any obligation to test. The well-known hygiene rules also apply to those who have been completely vaccinated and recovered.
