Numerous travel agencies, tour operators and hotels are still busy with the final settlement for bridging aid that was granted in the wake of the corona pandemic. Estimates vary about the effort involved, as a current Reisevor9 survey shows.
According to the survey, in which a total of around 250 entrepreneurs from sales, tour operators and the hotel industry took part, 42 percent of the travel agencies surveyed, half of the tour operators and a third of the hoteliers have already settled their final bill for the bridging aid.
53 percent of the participating travel agencies, 36 percent of the tour operators and 41 percent of those surveyed from the hotel industry described the effort involved as very high. Overall, an absolute majority of around three quarters of the travel and hotel experts rated their effort as very high or fairly high.
Good preparatory work pays off
Comments show that the actors assess the effort differently. Some survey participants point out that good data management and a good mid-office made things easier. Others see providing all the supporting documents as a lot of painstaking, detailed work.
Some actors apparently acted with foresight by always applying for bridging aid at the last possible point in time in order to operate with actual values and not with estimates. However, there seems to be a consensus that tax advisors and, in larger companies, auditors make great money from this.
