Exactly 117 117 267 euros from six Corona aid programs have so far flowed into the Märkischer Kreis, according to an overview by the Arnsberg district government.
Lüdenscheid – the reference date for the survey was October 14th. Every third euro went to the hospitality industry.
A total of EUR 31 043 397 was transferred to Lüdenscheid. For comparison: Iserlohn received 25 113 615 euros. Herscheid was there with 1,322,344 and Schalksmühle with 2,372,597 euros.
The federal government initially supported companies, self-employed individuals, associations and other institutions that were affected by the closings ordered to combat the pandemic from November 2, 2020 with extraordinary economic aid (“November aid and December aid”). The application deadline was July 30th.
December aid
4 618 584 euros flowed into Lüdenscheid (total MK: 16 430 706 euros). The municipality with the second highest sum is Iserlohn (4,070,210 euros). 89.8 percent of the applications were approved across the district – that’s 1139 – and the money was paid out. 9.0 percent (114) are still being processed, 1.2 percent (15) have been withdrawn. 95.2 percent of the funds applied for have reached the recipients.
The lion’s share of December aid in the Märkisches Kreis went to gastronomy at EUR 9,050,893, followed by “Art, entertainment and recreation” (EUR 3,382,011) and “Other services” (EUR 1,257,845). Agriculture, forestry and construction went away empty-handed.
November aid
Lüdenscheiders received EUR 4,571,031 (total MK: EUR 14,952,053). 3 654 728 euros went to Iserlohn.
96.14 percent of the applications were approved across the district – that’s 1197 – and the money was paid out. 2.41 percent (30) are still being processed, 1.45 percent (18) have been withdrawn. 96.3 percent of the funds applied for have reached the recipients.
In November aid, too, by far the largest amount of money flowed into the catering trade, namely 8 595 938 euros. This was again followed by “Art, entertainment and recreation” (3 505 643 euros) and “Other services” (1 101 619 euros).
Reboot help
The restart aid enables a subsidy independent of the fixed costs. In this way, it specifically supports self-employed people who do not benefit from the bridging aid due to the lack of fixed costs such as office rents or leasing costs. For the period from January to June 2021, the new start aid was planned to be 1250 euros per month, for the period from July to December 2021 it was 1500 euros per month as “Restart Aid Plus”. All in all, affected solo self-employed persons can receive up to 16,500 euros restart aid for the entire funding period in order to be able to start again after the crisis.
Important: Since October 14th, applications for the “Restart Aid Plus” can be submitted.
740,889 euros flowed to Lüdenscheid for the restart aid (total MK: 4,353,213 euros). Most of the money went to Iserlohn (1,026,302 euros). Across the district, 96.58 percent of the applications were approved – that is 706 – and the money was paid out. 1.78 percent (13) are still being processed, 1.64 percent (12) have been withdrawn. 97.4 percent of the funds applied for have reached the recipients.
In the Märkisches Kreis, the new start aid primarily benefits members of “Other Services” and “Other Sectors” with EUR 1,415,739. This is followed by the motor vehicle trade with 528 109 euros. “Art, entertainment and recreation” are included with 404 042 euros.
Bridging aid I
The Federal Bridging Aid I was paid out for the months of June to August 2020.
After Lüdenscheid, 1,121,768 euros flowed, which was the second highest amount in the Märkischer Kreis (total MK: 5,958,859 euros). Most of the money (1,237,096 euros) went to Iserlohn. District-wide, 87.48 percent of the applications were approved – exactly 524 – and the money was paid out. 8.51 percent (51) were withdrawn and 4.01 percent (21) were rejected. 92.1 percent of the funds applied for have reached the recipients.
Most of the money in the Märkisches Kreis (1,648,487 euros) went to “Other economic services”, followed by the manufacturing industry with 1,279,105 euros and gastronomy (1,112,612 euros).
Bridging aid II
The Federal Bridging Aid II was paid for the months from September to December 2020.
For this period 2,485,083 euros were transferred to Lüdenscheid (Iserlohn: 2,762,264 euros). For the entire Märkischer Kreis there were 12,602,328 euros. District-wide, 94.17 percent (1050) of the applications were approved and the money was paid out. 4.66 percent (52) were withdrawn and 1.17 percent (13) were rejected. 91.2 percent of the funds applied for have reached the recipients.
In the Märkisches Kreis, those in the manufacturing sector benefited most from Bridging Aid II (EUR 3,288,552), followed by the hospitality industry (EUR 2,407,400). The “Art, Entertainment and Recreation” section received EUR 1,002,137.
Bridging aid III
The Federal Bridging Aid III covers the months of November 2020 to June 2021. In the meantime, a “Bridging Aid III plus” has been launched for July to September 2021, which also includes the “Restart Aid Plus”.
For Lüdenscheid there was 17 506 042 euros, the highest amount in the Märkischer Kreis (total MK: 62 819 608 euros). Iserlohn received 12 363 015 euros. Across the district, 86.17 percent of the applications were approved – that’s 1564 – and the money was paid out. 11.57 percent (210) are still being processed, 2.26 percent (41) have been withdrawn. So far, 75.1 percent of the funds applied for have reached the recipients.
Most of the money in the Märkisches Kreis flowed by a large margin into the hospitality industry – namely 19,973,635 euros. “Art, entertainment and recreation” received 10,415,090 euros and the manufacturing sector 9,764,660 euros.
The industries
Overall, the hospitality industry has benefited the most from state financial aid, with a total of 40 630 848 euros to date. The “Art, Entertainment and Recreation” sector received 19 067 195 euros, and the manufacturing sector contributed 14 991 692 euros.
