– I have decided to give COVID-19 a face since many already know that I am ill. I have been infected here in Bodø, and have been hospitalized in isolation at the hospital since 26 February.
This is how the Facebook post started by businessman Stephen Fu in Bodø started at the beginning of March.
Last spring, when the corona was still new and foreign, he was interviewed by NRK in connection with the import of several tonnes of infection control equipment from China to a double-digit number of millions of kroner. One year later, he himself became infected. The situation appeared serious.
It was Avisa Nordland who first mentioned the case.
– Can only walk 20 meters
– Not just the flu
– The form is not good, but I fight what I can. To those who believe that COVID-19 is just a flu, they just have to try, Fu wrote.
It was still just the beginning. The situation would get much worse.
On Saturday, the successful businessman comes with an update on how he was increasingly reduced after he became infected. There he also describes the serious disease development that still affects him strongly.
– I was on a respirator for 56 days, and woke up at UNN in Tromsø. I was completely lame, writes Fu.
– Young people get long-term injuries from covid-19
Can go again
After almost two months, the 56-year-old is now out of the intensive care unit. The training is underway, and Fu is looking forward to the future.
– I have managed to take my first steps together with physio. I look forward to completing rehab at Valnesfjord. I have received life as a gift back, and I am eternally grateful for the work they have done at UNN and Nordland Hospital, he writes on Saturday.
Dagbladet has been in contact with Stephen Fu. In an SMS, he writes that he does not want an interview until he is healthy, but gives permission to reproduce the Facebook post he has written.
