[아시아경제 이춘희 기자] The Corona 19 Vaccine Central Vaccination Center, which is scheduled for the first vaccination in Korea to combat Corona 19, has been unveiled for the first time.
At the’U.S. Engineer’s Site’, which is the planned site of the National Medical Center in Bangsan-dong, Jung-gu, Seoul, which was visited on the 1st, the Corona 19 Vaccination Center, where Korea’s first Corona 19 vaccine was scheduled, was established. One of the three buildings prepared to expand hospital beds for confirmed patients has been converted into an inoculation center.
The government announced that it will give the first vaccination to corona 19 medical staff in the metropolitan area through the corona 19 vaccination plan announced on the 28th of last month.
In particular, Pfizer’s Corona 19 vaccine, which is currently the first to be vaccinated, is a messenger ribonucleic acid (mRNA) vaccine containing the genetic information of the virus, and it is essential to distribute a’cold chain’ at a cryogenic temperature below -70 degrees Celsius.
Accordingly, with Pfizer, the government plans to operate about 250 vaccination centers nationwide with facilities that can inoculate modder or vaccine, an mRNA vaccine. The central medical center vaccination center has facilities that can store up to 120,000 doses and backup facilities in case of emergency. The building with the vaccine freezer is directly managed by the Ministry of Defense.

So how is the actual vaccination done? Vaccines who visit the vaccination center first go through an identity verification procedure in the waiting area to confirm whether they are the vaccination person.
After that, wait for the vaccination in the waiting area. To maintain social distancing, the Central Medical Center plans to allow waiting people to sit on long chairs one by one. To do this, put a’do not sit’ warning between the chairs. During the waiting process, a questionnaire on whether you are pregnant or have a history of allergies is also written.
Full-fledged screening and vaccination are carried out by moving to the vaccination and observation area about 50m away. The doctor checks the underlying disease and the physical condition on the day of vaccination to determine whether vaccination is possible.
Kim Yeon-jae, head of the research and development team at the Central Infectious Diseases Hospital Operation Center, said, “It is different from other vaccines in that the waiting for reception is not a simple waiting, but the selection of targets for vaccination.” It is important” he emphasized.

Completing the vaccination does not mean that you can go home immediately. After vaccination, you must go to the observation room and wait 15 minutes or more. This is to observe whether there are any adverse reactions that you may not know. In particular, if you wrote that you have a history of allergies in the questionnaire, you are classified as a cautionary group and you have to wait 30 minutes or more.
If an adverse reaction occurs, it is transferred to the next emergency treatment room or intensive observation room. If a serious reaction occurs, it will be transferred to a medical center. The Central Medical Center has a policy that 119 or emergency medical personnel are on standby for 24 hours so that they can be transferred quickly at any time.
Ahead of the introduction of the Corona 19 vaccine, the government will conduct mock training from this day to the 3rd in preparation for unexpected situations that may occur during transportation and vaccination. Relevant ministries such as the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Food and Drug Administration, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Ministry of Defense, and Customs Service will all participate. The training focuses most on maintaining the cold chain, while also checking the possibility of a vaccine takeover attempt or vehicle accident.
