In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, measured against the population, most people have been vaccinated against the coronavirus: According to the RKI, 11,500 people have already received the vaccine.
According to data from the Robert Koch Institute for the individual federal states, the majority of vaccinations (6,500) are given to employees in nursing homes and hospitals. In addition, almost 5,000 nursing home residents have been vaccinated so far, plus 180 vaccinated people who do not live in nursing homes but are over the age of 80.
New vaccine doses in the second week of January
On Monday, the vaccination centers and hospitals in the country will continue to be equipped with vaccines, said the Ministry of Health NDR 1 Radio MV. On January 11th, another 15,000 vaccine doses will be delivered to Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania by the manufacturer Biontec. Unlike in other federal states, according to the ministry, there will be enough vaccine available by then to carry out the planned vaccinations. From Monday onwards, people over 80 years of age will receive information about their planned vaccination by letter. The letter contains a telephone number on which vaccination appointments can be made.
