Cork City Attack: Gardaí to Launch Murder Probe After Woman’s Death

Cork, Ireland is ⁣reeling​ after the death of 36-year-old Vanessa O’Callaghan, who succumbed to injuries​ sustained in ‌a brutal assault ⁣outside a soup kitchen on Sunday evening.

Her body was transported ⁢to the CUH ‍morgue, ​where State Pathologist Dr. Sally Anne Collis will conduct a postmortem examination on Thursday. Investigators hope the autopsy will provide crucial clues to aid their examination.

An incident room has been established at Anglesea Garda‍ station, and detectives are pursuing a definite ⁣line of inquiry. They have​ identified over 30 individuals, both ‌service ⁤users and providers, ​who were present at​ the soup kitchen at the time of the attack.
