The Women’s Brasileirão has a new leader: in a fierce game, the Corinthians won the Guild, by 3 to 2, and passed Palmeiras in the general classification on Monday night, in a game played at São Jorge Park, in São Paulo.

Corinthians’ goals were scored by Giovanna Crivelari, twice, and Vic Albuquerque deflected for the Grêmio defender to score against. Tricolor Gaúcho scored with Janaína Queiroz and Pri Back. The result left the team in sixth place.

Corinthians’ victory also marked the return of Arthur Elias to the reserve bench. The coach had been out of the last game to recover from gastric problems, which kept him hospitalized for a few days. The team had been led by assistant Rodrigo Iglesias.
