At least eight Corinthians players are on the pre-list for the Brazilian National Team to compete in the Women’s World Cupwhich will start on July 20, in Australia, as revealed by coach Arthur Elias after the team’s classification for the semifinals of the Brasileirão, last Monday, after beating Cruzeiro by 4 to 2 in the quarterfinals phase .
The hopscotch coach, Pia Sundhage, will summon the 23 athletes and three substitutes to represent Brazil in the tournament this Tuesday afternoon, at 4 pm, at the CBF headquarters, in Rio de Janeiro. Timão’s coach, Arthur Elias said he was looking forward to the call-up and hopes for as many Corinthians athletes as possible on the list.
“It gives me greater anxiety because I want more and many of them are, they are deserving. Of course I know (how many players), there are eight on the long list and we imagine that not all eight will be there, but (I hope) as much as possible because they are athletes, in addition to being very dedicated, they have a great future, not only to help the Corinthians, but the Selection. I look forward to having a large number of people join their hearts in the Cup. Because now, without a doubt, we just want everyone to cheer, and think positively so that Brazil returns with the best possible result”, said the commander in an interview in the mixed zone after the match against Cruzeiro.
In the current season, seven Corinthians players were called up for the Brazilian National Team, namely: Lelê, Tarciane, Yasmim, Tamires, Luana, Duda Sampaio and Gabi Portilho.
And mayor Duda Sampaio, however, was cut from the call-up to dispute the Finalissima, against England, and the friendly against Germany, both in April. On the occasion, she gave up the place to her companion Luana. Duda scored one of Brabas’ goals in the 4-2 defeat of Cruzeiro.
The final list will be announced with transmission of the CBF TV, on their official channels. On open TV, the Rede Globo will also display the summons.
Before the World Cup dispute, the Brazilian team will face Chile, on July 2, with the squad formed for the tournament, which will take place in Australia. Brazil is in Group F and debuts on the 24th, against Panama, and plays its other matches in the group on the 29th, against France, and on August 2nd, against Jamaica.
