The manager took the opportunity to put an end to the possibility of Philippe Coutinho wearing the Corinthians shirt in 2023.

O my helm
In December, Corinthians’ interest in the situation of the 30-year-old Brazilian midfielder was confirmed. At the time, the representative Kia Joorabchian tried to make it possible for the player to return to Brazil, who showed interest in the possibility. The deal, however, would depend on the release of Aston Villa, an English club that paid more than R$ 100 million for the player in 2022.
English newspapers reported Villa’s release for the athlete to look for new clubs in January, but the focus on a transfer to the European market with a bonus for the deal. Timão was trying to make Coutinho’s loan possible after deciding that the player would not change teams in Europe.
Coutinho did not change clubs in Europe, he started to receive more minutes on the field at Aston Villa and decided, along with the representative staff, that he would not return to Brazil in the European winter window. Corinthians continued to monitor the athlete, but ended this Sunday’s interest.
