THE STARTING BIBS

20.47 Siebenhofer is not competitive at the start of the season. 0.92 late in the third set.

20.45 Corinne Suter takes the lead with 0.22 on compatriot Haehlen. There have been some small flaws, it’s not unbeatable. Now the Austrian Ramona Siebenhofer.

20.44 Error in a curve to the right. 6 cents of delay in the second survey for Suter, who is back ahead by 0.21 in the third.

20.44 Suter immediately ahead of 0.04 in the first intermediate. She’s cleared.

20.43 Puchner recovers in the final, but is second at 0.37 from Haehlen. And now one of the main favourites, the Swiss Corinne Suter, second yesterday by just 3 cents.

20.43 Puchner out of the race, accuses 0.44 in the fourth intermediate.

20.42 Sometimes there are strong gusts of wind that raise snow dust. Today you will also need a lot of luck…

20.42 Puchner immediately charges 16 cents.

20.41 Joana Haehlen takes the lead with 67 cents on Miradoli. The race gets underway. Now the Austrian Mirjam Puchner, very dangerous.

20.41 Haehlen is confirmed as a loose cannon. 0.45 ahead in the second intermediate, 0.43 in the third.

20.39 There is a lot of wind in the lower part. Flury closes third at 0.37. Now another Swiss outsider, Joana Haehlen.

20.38 Miradoli had a good race, benefiting from the lowered start.

20.38 Flury ahead by 0.03 in the first set, but behind by 0.19 in the second.

20.37 Gagnon loses a lot in the final and is fourth at 0.98. Now the Swiss Jasmine Flury.

20.36 Gagnon has the same time as Miradoli in the second detection, but is behind

20.35 Lara Gut-Behrami just does not find the feeling with the Lake Louise track and closes at 0.26 from Miradoli. It’s up to the Canadian Marie-Michele Gagnon, now a downhill skier after having faced almost an entire career as a slalom skier (and combined skier).

20.34 In the second set, the Swiss lose something, but they still have 13 cents of advantage.

20.34 Gut has an advantage of 2 tenths in the first intermediate stage.

20.33 Miradoli gives 66 cents to Nufer. A good descent. It’s up to the Swiss Lara Gut-Behrami, very disappointed yesterday.

20.33 Very good Miradoli, 0.36 margin on the third detection. He didn’t do anything wrong.

20.32 And in fact Miradoli takes the lead by 0.01.

20.32 Miradoli pays 17 cents to the first intermediate, but from now on he could go wild.

20.32 1’30″88 for Nufer, we can do better. Now the French Romane Miradoli, who can ski really well in the most technical section.

20.30 The women’s downhill of Lake Louise has started, the second of the season.

20.29 Here we are, Nufer at the starting gate!

20.27 The first to start will be the Swiss Priska Nufer, an outsider to be feared.

20.26 Clear sky in Lake Louise, perfect visibility.

20.24 The general classification is led by Mikaela Shiffrin with 265 points, followed by Wendy Holdener at 240 and Petra Vlhova at 220. Sofia Goggia is tenth at 100 (but with only one race played).

20.23 Petra Vlhova and Mikaela Shiffrin will not be present today either.

20.22 There will be 45 athletes in the race.

20.20 The starting bibs of the Italians in the race: 12 Nadia Delago, 13 Sofia Goggia, 18 Laura Pirovano, 19 Elena Curtoni, 20 Federica Brignone, 21 Marta Bassino, 25 Nicol Delago, 37 Karoline Pichler. Compared to yesterday, Brignone took over from Roberta Melesi.

20.11 Just Federica Brignone, absent yesterday, will play today’s race as a test for tomorrow’s super-G.

20.10 Sofia Goggia has won 18 career races in the World Cup. You are -2 from the Italian record (in the women’s field) held by Federica Brignone.

20.07 The Bergamo native had struggled in the first section of the track, making only the 10th partial time: today there will be no skiing, because the start was lowered due to the strong wind.

20.06 Yesterday Sofia Goggia won with 3 cents ahead of the Swiss Corinne Suter and 6 over the Austrian Cornelia Huetter.

20.03 Good evening friends of OA Sport and welcome to the Live Live of the second descent in Lake Louise, valid for the 2022-2023 Women’s Alpine Skiing World Cup.

19.30 The start of the women’s downhill in Lake Louise has been lowered due to the strong wind: the start will be held at the gate from which the men’s super-G started last week. The start is set in an hour, at 20.30 Italian time.

Good evening and welcome to Live broadcast of the downhill of Lake Louise, valid for the women’s alpine skiing World Cup. Sofia Goggia goes hunting for an encore after yesterday’s triumph.

The Bergamo rider confirmed the extraordinary feeling with the Canadian track. This is the fourth consecutive victory after the three of last season. Goggia is still today the woman to beat and she can continue her streak of successes, bringing the victories only in downhill to 14 (yesterday she definitively detached Isolde Kostner in the all-time downhill ranking among the Italians).

Yesterday Goggia risked, suffered at the finish line and celebrated when before Corinne Suter and then Cornelia Huetter got after her for pennies. The Swiss and the Austrian are still the main rivals today and they are joined by the other two Austrians Mirjam Puchner and Nina Ortieb and the Slovenian Ilka Stuhec.

OA Sport offers you the Live streaming of the Lake Louise downhillvalid for the Women’s World Cup of Alpine skiing. It starts at 20.30. Good fun!
