Bornstedt –
Who can sew? With this appeal, the association “Affair of the Heart” turned to its followers on Facebook and asked who can help quickly and unbureaucratically and sew things for the little, seriously ill Kenny from Naumburg.
“I was very touched by his fate and I immediately agreed to help,” says Corinna Reisser emotionally. According to her, she didn’t hesitate, took out her sewing machine that same day and went to work. The hobby seamstress from Bornstedt has been doing this handicraft for two years and has immersed herself more and more in this topic in this short period of time.
“Everyone can and should help”
“I always have enough material at home,” says the 39-year-old. At craft fairs, she regularly stockpiles this piece of goods. She now tailors for her seven-year-old son Mateo, for friends and, of course, for herself too. How did she come across the association “Herzensaffache” from Wansleben? Corinna Reisser explains that through her job as a hairdresser and branch manager of “Friseur und Kosmetik Charmant” in Röblingen, her customers have repeatedly drawn attention to the association. “That was the point at which I dealt with it more intensively,” she explains in an interview, and goes on to say that she has been following the work of Mandy and Nico Brandtner, the two initiators of “Herzensache”, on Facebook for over a year.
“I can’t put into words how much I appreciate the work of Mandy and Nico Brandtner,” says the young mother, because she and her husband Christian Geschke share the same sad fate: Both families have lost a child. “That’s why my heart is so attached to this association and I’m glad that I was able to help.” “Everyone can and should help,” is her firm conviction. And that’s why she started making pants and pajamas for little Kenny. The clothes had to be specially tailored, as the boy is connected to a lot of medical equipment and tubes and purchased pants would simply be too uncomfortable for the little one.
“Affair of the Heart” association from Wansleben overwhelmed by helpfulness
“We were overwhelmed by the willingness to help,” says Nico Brandtner from the “Affair of the Heart” association. They have already sent the sewn things to the family from Naumburg and also added a camera system to the sewn things as a gift. So that not only Kenny’s parents but also his siblings can keep in touch with him. “Unfortunately we couldn’t deliver the things personally”, Brandtner regrets very much, “but the boy and his parents can visit us soon”, says the club chairman confidently.
