Michael Schumacher is now 52 years old, but little is known about his medical condition since his skiing accident in 2013. His wife, Corinna Schumacher, has in a documentary of Netflix a little more clarity about the situation of the seven-time Formula 1 champion.
At the end of 2013, things went horribly wrong for Schumacher when he was skiing with his family in the French Alps. The former Formula 1 driver had an unfortunate fall and ended up with his head on a stone. He was rushed to hospital and was found to have suffered serious brain injuries. Schumacher has since recovered, but has not appeared in public since this accident. It is unclear how he really is. The family also shields the Formula 1 legend from the outside world as much as possible, in order to guarantee his privacy. However, Corinna has now told something about Schumacher in the documentary of the same name by Netflix.

Michael is still rehabilitating
In the documentary, which can be seen on Netflix from September 15, Corinna says that she still misses her husband very much every day. “It makes sense that I miss Michael every day and not just me, but the children, his family, his father, everyone around us. Everyone misses Michael,” said the 52-year-old wife. “We live together at home, we rehabilitate and do everything so that Michael is well and that he feels the presence of our family.”
Corinna does not blame God
Corinna doesn’t blame anyone for the fact that things went horribly wrong for Michael in the French Alps. It was pure bad luck and could have happened to anyone, she believes. “I never blamed God for what happened. It was just bad luck. You can’t have more bad luck in life,” Corinna says. Michael had considered seeking warmer places before the ski vacation. “The snow is not good, we can also fly to Dubai,” he said just before departure.
It is important that Schumacher enjoys
Although nothing is said about Michael’s exact condition, Corinna does indicate that it is important that her husband “enjoy”. “It’s important that he can enjoy his private life, as best as that goes,” she says. “Michael has always protected us, now we protect him.”
