The ban on crossing, staying and traffic on the island is valid tomorrow from 08:00 until sunrise on Tuesday, August 1
With his announcement, the deputy governor of Corfu K. Zorbas announced the imposition of the measure of the prohibition of passage, stay and traffic, in certain areas of Corfu due to the very high risk of fire on the island, category 4, according to the Charter of the General Secretariat, for tomorrow Monday 31st July from 08:00 until sunrise on Tuesday 1st August.
According to a statement issued by the Deputy Governor of Corfu, K. Zorbas, the prohibition measure will apply to the following areas:
(a) Cedar Forest of Issos (Ammothines of Korission), Forest of Agios Matthaios, Arkoudila and Theophylaktos Area of the Local Community of Pauliana of the Municipality of South Corfu.
(b) Mon Repo, Lazaretto Island, Vidos Island, Pontikonisi Island, Kombitsi, Agioi Deka, Stavros and Agios Panteleimon area of the Local Community of Kato Garouna of the Municipality of Central Corfu & Diapontian Islands.
(c) Porto Timoni Municipality of North Corfu.
d) Erimiti, Panagia Islands, Agios Nikolaos and Antipaxos of the Municipality of Paxos
The announcement was communicated to the relevant agencies.
In the meantime, in NE Corfu, aerial means and also foot units of the Fire Brigade operate daily, as there are small outbreaks and rekindling of fires in inaccessible areas of the island.
