The limitation to 200 spectators that applied until last Saturday will also remain in effect, a deputy prime minister said. The previously announced tightening will therefore be reversed.
The decision comes after a judgment of the Council of State, which suspended the decision of the previous Consultation Committee to close the cultural sector.
Doubts remained about what would happen to the cinemas now, whether they could reopen or not. Initially the answer was no. But Minister of the Interior Annelies Verlinden (CD&V) said in the evening news that that decision would also be re-examined.
During a consultation, Tuesday evening, it was decided that theaters and cinemas can open again.
An electronic Consultation Committee will probably confirm this on Wednesday.
