Ccity of Mexico. Coppel Group announced this Monday an investment of 12 billion pesos for this year, with the areas of store opening, promotion of renewable energy and technological transformation being those that will be addressed.
The company will seek to add more than 100 new stores to the 1,782 existing ones; It also contemplates the remodeling of existing properties.
Regarding the issue of energy, it will be conducted in accordance with the goal set in 2020 to reduce the carbon footprint by 30 percent in the next 10 years.
In a statement, he detailed that the installation of solar panels will be expanded to more than 700 properties by the end of this year, with the objective of achieving a reduction in carbon emissions by 33 thousand tons – the equivalent of planting 540 thousand trees.
Likewise, Coppel will continue to expand its electric and hybrid fleet, until it reaches 700 units in circulation.
While in order to improve the customer experience in the different service channels, the technological and digital transformation will be strengthened; for this, additional resources of six billion pesos will be allocated in the next 3 years.
Regarding the announced investment and the objectives being pursued, the Chairman of the Board and CEO of Grupo Coppel, Agustín Coppel Luken, commented: “Our decision seeks to endorse a double commitment: firstly, to better serve our clients, so that their experience in physical stores and in our digital channels is increasingly satisfactory; and also redouble our commitment to the environment.”
