COPE journalist Eva Galvache dies in Madrid

The journalist Eva Galvache passed away on Saturday in Pozuelo de Alarcón (Madrid) at 57 years after a long illness, as reported by the cadena COPE, where the communicator developed her entire professional career. Specializing in the sections of Society and Religion, his colleagues have recalled “his love for serious and rigorous work”. She was a “tireless, fighter and cheerful” journalist, as many of the colleagues with whom she shared her working life remember 33 years.

Every Saturday, Galvache informed listeners of the current events of the Church in Spain and in the world and all the activity of the Vatican through ‘Iglesia noticia’, one of the oldest radio programs in Spain, recognized by the Episcopal Conference with the Bravo award in 2013.

In addition, for three decades, COPE listeners have heard his voice in the informative, recounting the important events worldwide related to the Church such as the World Youth Days, synods, conclaves and different canonizations.

Galvache, in addition to ‘Iglesia noticias’, has also presented the program for several seasons ‘Lyrics and music’ and ‘The family mirror’, a window where each week “he showed his absolute dedication to the family and his eagerness to help troubled families through the radio.”
