Coparmex and social organizations demand that education be considered an essential activity in Nuevo León

According to federal statistics, he pointed out, in the country only 53,000 children have been infected, which represents 2.1% of the confirmed cases of Covid-19 that amount to 2.5 million, and there have only been 569 deaths in children under 15 years of age, which means 0.2% of all deaths from this virus.

On the other hand, they mentioned that in the state there are 70,000 students who do not have a television and cannot take distance education and that there are around 450,000 students who do not have internet and have to invest in cards to participate in online classes.

Adopt a school

The organizations want to be part of the solution, therefore, they are going to launch the Adopt a School program, “so that a safe and responsible return to school can occur,” said Regina Garza, representative of the group.

He explained that they will work with directors and supervisors of some schools who are willing to return to classes, whom they will be able to support with the cost of lower maintenance.
