Copa América – Hard blow for Chile: Alexis Sanchez will miss the first round

The star of La Roja will miss the entire first round due to an injury.

The striker of La Roja is indeed injured as announced by the Chilean selection on his Twitter account. He suffers from a muscle injury that occurred during training on Friday.

This injury is a huge blow for La Roja because Alexis Sanchez (32) is his record holder for selections (138) and goals (46). With Sanchez in attack, Chile won their only two Copa América, in 2015 and 2016 before being finalists in the Confederations Cup in 2017.

The medical staff of the selection did not specify the total duration of his absence but confirmed that the player who plays at Inter Milan will miss the entire first round (four matches) and could return to the occasion of the quarter-finals.
